We had a lot of fun with letter Chiliad this calendar week!

Letter of the alphabet G Activities

My Three filled in the gumball machine with our round office stickers. He didn't want to do the dots on the letter One thousand, and then nosotros stopped here.  Lots of fine motor practice to peel off those stickers and get them in the right spot!

This is 1 of our favorite activities from Learning the Alphabet.  He rolled the big block and put the upper or lowercase letter on the correct ladder. This fourth dimension we glued the pieces down.  It was good practice with a glue stick and also less frustrating for him, every bit the pieces didn't fly effectually when he rolled the block.

He still holds markers and pencils with a fist, so handwriting practice is probably a long manner off.  Instead, I drew a G with a pencil and gave him grapes.  Carefully he put the grapes all along the line to form the G.  These types of activities are peachy for strengthening fine motor skills.  (Starting handwriting practice before kids are ready is not a good idea!)

This set of ABC books with pictures is ane of my most popular complimentary printables.  He likes naming the pictures with me as nosotros turn the page. These books are a swell vocabulary builder!

For a math activity, we did these gumball counting mats.  Since we graphed coins for letter of the alphabet C and bears for letter B, we didn't do any additional graphing activities. Simply that's a great tie-in for letter 1000! Yous can notice our graphing ideas hither.

This past Christmas he received toy gears equally a present, so we used our washable paint to brand some gear prints.

I pulled out my free alphabet picture cards and took out the pictures for letter C and G.  We named each picture together, and I emphasized the showtime sound of each one. "Cat.  /c/, /c, cat."  I was thrilled when he could sort them by beginning sound!  The final fourth dimension (about two months ago) that I tried this sort of activity, he was completely clueless.

We've been doing Letter of the Week almost half dozen weeks now. Information technology's working! 🙂

By the way, after we started I realized that I chose a poor combination of messages to work on. That's considering the /c/ and /g/ sounds that nosotros worked on are both made in the dorsum of the throat. It would have been better to contrast the /yard/ audio with /b/ or /d/, for case, because y'all make the sound in a different part of your oral cavity.

He still got it, though!

For a whole alphabet activity, I printed these alphabet exercise cards, which were then much fun!  Since I got active with my son (and his iv-year-old brother), information technology was actress fun for my Iii.  But a annotation: the pack you download is missing letters Y and Z.  No affair – nosotros had a not bad time with letters A-Ten!

For a name activeness, I wrote his letter on a piece of construction paper and he covered it with reinforcement labels.  I was surprised at how diligent he was  at this!  He only asked for help with one letter.  This snowball name activity is from Fun-a-Day.
